The Saturday Spreadsheet Epiphany

So I was sitting in my favorite coffee shop last Saturday, the one with mismatched vintage chairs and a playlist that somehow always hits the right note. I had my laptop open, supposedly working on a mood board for fall, but honestly I was just people-watching and sipping my third oat milk latte. That’s when it hit me—I’ve been using this orientdig spreadsheet to track all my wardrobe pieces, and it’s kind of changed how I think about getting dressed.

Like, I used to just grab whatever was on top of the pile, you know? But now, with that orientdig spreadsheet, I can actually see what I own. Colors, fabrics, how often each piece gets worn. It’s nerdy, I know, but it’s also surprisingly freeing.

This morning I pulled out this old sweater from COS—the one that’s slightly pilled but in that cozy way—and paired it with some wide-leg trousers I thrifted last spring. Normally I would’ve second-guessed the proportions, but the orientdig spreadsheet told me that combo works more often than not. So I just went with it. And honestly? It felt like wearing a mini revelation.

I’ve also started noticing how much I gravitate towards certain silhouettes. The orientdig spreadsheet has a column for ‘silhouette notes’—I added that myself—and it’s wild to see patterns emerge. I apparently love anything that’s oversized on top and narrow on bottom. Who knew?

Walking home later, past all those boutique windows with impossibly styled mannequins, I didn’t feel that usual pang of ‘I need more.’ Instead, I felt settled. Like, I already have everything I need to create outfits that feel like me. And yeah, part of that is because I finally have a system—that orientdig spreadsheet—that makes my wardrobe feel less chaotic and more curated.

Anyway, just a little Saturday ramble. If you’re the kind of person who keeps spreadsheets for fun (or wishes you did), you’ll get it. If not, well, thanks for letting me geek out for a minute.
